Hotel Van Zandt

Hotel Van Zandt

ParkUSA designed, manufactured, and installed four products for this boutique hotel. We supplied two free-standing grease interceptors for their busy kitchens, a solids interceptor to remove lint and debris due to their laundry services, and a solids-interceptor for their parking garage.

The Hotel Van Zandt is a 367,676-square-foot hotel in the Waterfront District of downtown Austin. The 16-story hotel has four levels of underground parking, restaurants, a pool deck, and meeting space.

The active kitchen required a grease interceptor for pretreatment of waste entering the wastewater system. A 6,000-gallon grease interceptor was chosen for its durability and performance. The GreaseTrooper® Model GTS-6000 is a freestanding unit encased in steel, which our team installed in the lower parking level via the service manholes located in an outdoor service area behind the hotel. The configuration allows for convenient pumping while controlling odors. The interceptor is manufactured of 304 stainless steel and will provide many years of service.

A compact MGT-400 Grease Interceptor was also installed in the pool deck area, where space is limited. Our team also installed a Lint Trooper Model LTS-500 for use in the commercial laundry facility. This unit is also freestanding and allows for easy access and maintenance. To further protect the city sewer from oil and fuel, we installed a CMP-200 Sand-Oil Interceptor in the parking garage. This freestanding interceptor allows wastewater to flow through a series of baffles, allowing heavier particles to settle at the bottom and preventing sediment and other pollutants from entering the public sewer system.
