The Brockman Hall for Physics at Rice University in Houston is a 110,000-sqaure-foot facility that includes vibration and noise-controlled underground laboratories to support work in atomic, molecular, and optical physics; biophysics; condensed matter physics; nanotechnology; and photonics. The building meets the exacting requirements of modern physics laboratories and consolidates its research in fundamental and applied physics.
The laboratories’ plumbing systems within Brockman Hall are protected by the ParkUSA LabTankÒ Ceramic Acid Neutralization system with pH monitoring. This system supports responsible waste management by collecting acidic waste and chemically neutralizing it in tanks before it is discharged into the sanitary sewer system. The system protects laboratory workers and equipment from potential harm caused by acidic wastewater.
