Details

Park Process manufactures a wide range of strainers designed for specific pipeline process water applications. Available styles include simplex strainers, Y strainers, T strainers, basket strainers, duplex strainers, and automatic strainers. Our strainer products are engineered for long-lasting performance and built with durable carbon steel, 304 stainless steel, or 316 stainless steel. Removable and cleanable filter baskets make for easy maintenance, and a swing bolt closure allows for quick opening and closing. A Dauit arm is used on larger vessels. Basket perforations are available in 1/32” to 1” sizes. Additional stainless steel wire mesh linings can be included in 20 to 40 mesh options. Our strainers come with a 150 psi at 250°F standard operating rating.

How It Works

Strainers work by trapping and removing solid particles from liquids flowing through industrial or process fluid pipelines. Park Process manufactures a variety of strainer types optimized for specific applications, including simplex strainers, Y strainers, T strainers, basket strainers, duplex strainers, and automatic strainers.

Simplex strainers consist of a single strainer basket or screen that traps the solids. Once the strainer is full, the flow of fluids must be stopped to clean the strainer. Y strainers have a Y-shaped body fitted with a strainer screen in the filter leg. Liquid enters the strainer through the main channel inlet, and solid particles are collected on the inner surface of the screen. The screening media and collected debris are removed through a bolted chamber cover. T strainers have a T-shaped body fitted with a strainer screen that collects debris as liquids pass through the device. It can be opened for cleaning without stopping the flow of fluids. Basket strainers have a cylindrical body fitted with a removable basket. Solid particles and debris are collected in the basket as the liquid passes through the strainer. Once the basket is full, it can be easily removed, cleaned, and placed back into the strainer device. Duplex strainers consist of two parallel strainer housings with isolation valves. When one strainer is full, the flow can be diverted by closing the isolation valve. This allows for filter media cleaning without interrupting the process fluid flow. Automatic strainers use a self-cleaning rotating or oscillating screen to remove solid particles from flowing liquids.

About the Strainer

Park Process Strainers effectively capture unwanted debris and solids from flowing fluids, helping to protect downstream process equipment from clogging and damage.

Applications

Park Process Strainers can be used in a variety of industrial process applications.

Cooling and Intake Water

The power generation industry uses strainers in raw water intake pipelines to capture large aquatic debris like seaweed, sticks, leaves, and other suspended solids found in lakes, rivers, and gulfs.

Wastewater

Wastewater treatment plants utilize Strainers to pre-filter organic materials and large debris from water before flowing through sensitive filtration and purification equipment.

Pulp and Paper

Strainers filter impurities from water used in pulp and paper processing.

Chemical Processing

Chemical processing plants use strainers for particle and contaminant removal to ensure consistent batching and formulation.

Food and Beverage

Breweries, juice and beverage processors, dairy processors, and food manufacturers use strainers to eliminate impurities from liquid streams, resulting in higher quality products.

Textiles

Strainers are used for pre-filtering wastewater in textile and fiber processing facilities before it is recycled or further treated for discharge.

Iron and Steel Industry

Contaminants in steel mill process fluids including steel fines, dust, particles, and scale can be effectively filtered using a Park Process Strainer device.
