Sample Well Basin
A Sample Well is used in sewer applications to allow for periodic sampling of the wastewater (usually required by the Administrative Authority). Wastewater samples are used to monitor the performance of Grease/Lint interceptors, Oil/Water Separators or Acid Neutralization Tanks. Samples are taken from the sample port or by removing the cover. The sample is then sent to a laboratory for analysis for BOD, TSS, pH, and Oil/Grease content.

The ParkUSA Model SWAS, SWASS & SWAP Sample Wells are recommended for use in a non-buried applications such as basements. The sample well should be adequately supported from ceiling structure. Typically the material of construction in an above ground application is the same as the interceptor.
The Model SWAS or SWASS Sample Well Assembly is constructed of ASTM A36 steel, fabricated in accordance to AWS D1.1 standards. The unit shall be manufactured from A36 carbon steel & coated with acid-resistant epoxy. SS304 construction is optional. The unit shall include inlet, outlet, and sample port connections, removable lid with securing bolts and gasket, and support brackets.
The Model SWAP Sample Well Assembly is constructed of molded High Density Polyethylene, fabricated in accordance to AWS D1.1 standards. Shall be constructed of virgin High Density Polyethylene conforming to ASTM D4976 “Standard Specifications for Polyethylene Plastics Molding and Extrusion Materials. The unit shall include inlet, outlet, and sample port connections, removable lid with securing bolts and gasket, and support brackets.
The ParkUSA model SWB and SWBP are recommended for buried applications. The SWB is rated for AASHTO HS-20 traffic loads.
The Model SWB is constructed of Class I/ II concrete with a minimum design strength of 4500 psi conforming to ASTM C890 and C478. The unit is of monolithic construction at base and at the first stage of the wall with sectional riser available to required depth. The cast iron frames and grates are manufactured of grey cast iron conforming to ASTM A48-76 Class 30, rated for an AASHTO HS-20 Traffic Loading.
The Model SWBP is constructed of a concrete base with a High Density Polyethylene riser to grade. This model is recommended for areas with pedestrian loads only (300 psf) The base of the unit is constructed of Class I/II concrete with a minimum design strength conforming to ASTM C890. The HDPE riser is manufactured in accordance with ASTM F2648 “Standard Specification for 2 to 60 inch Annular Corrugated Profile Wall Polyethylene (PE) Pipe and Fittings for Land Drainage Applications”.
