The ParkUSA BreakTankTM is a packaged water storage system complete with tank, controls, and fill valves. A BreakTank is a necessary component in multilevel buildings to provide adequate water needs for Fire, Domestic, & Irrigation applications. The tanks are used to store the necessary amount of water if the main
ParkUSA has been fabricating BreakTanks for more than 25 years in accordance with the American Welding Society Specifications, AISC, NFPA, and the Uniform Building Code.
The fabrication of reliable, durable products requires knowledge, experience and investment. The Engineering team at Park has designed Break Tanks that are fabricated for project specifications and size requirements to meet your individual needs. All fabrication is performed at our Houston plant with certified material and personnel. Factory coating and abrasive blasting are performed in our new High-Tech blast/paint facility, which offers excellent corrosion and abrasion resistance.

The fire Break-TankTM is utilized for the sole purpose of providing immediate access to water in the event of a fire. In multilevel buildings this is especially important as the added water stored in the break tank can provide immediate access. Many cities are prohibiting from pumping directly from the city water mains to prevent low system water pressure and damage to public water lines. The break-tank enables water storage and supply for the building’s use. The break tank also helps eliminate potential contamination of city water supply by providing a physical “air-gap” between the city water service and the building. It eliminates the back-syphonage or backflow potential of water back to the city service.

The combination BreakTankTM is divided by a partition with one compartment for fire protection water and the other for potable water (only where domestic storage is utilized). The partition is a double walled and extends to the top of the tank. Each wall of the partition is sealed with a continuous weld between the wall and four sides of the tank.
Many cities prohibit pumping directly from the city water mains to prevent low system water pressure and damage to public water lines. The break-tank enables water storage and supply for the building’s use while eliminating the potential for contamination of the city water supply. By providing a physical “air-gap” between the city water service and the building, this product eliminates the potential of back-syphonage and backflow to the city service lines.
BreakTank ® CGF
The ParkUSA ® BreakTank ® CGF is an innovative and low-cost fire water storage tank solution, ranging in sizes of 600 to 150,000 gallons. Fires can occur at any moment, anywhere. Installing a BreakTank CGF onsite provides a reliable water source to combat fire, helps minimize excess fire property damage, and could ultimately aid in saving lives.
The BreakTank is engineered for fire protection in compliance with local, state, and national standards such as NSF 61, NFPA-22 and NFPA-1142 plus meets IBC 2015 standards with the ability to upgrade based on site-specific requirements. Inside each BreakTank CGF tank, geotextile and polymer membrane liners contain the water, preventing corrosion by isolating the water from the steel tank interior.
The tank features high gauge sidewalls, long-lasting anti-vortex fittings, roof vents, premium water level indicators and OSHA-compliant ladders. The tank is offered with a thorough, site-specific structural engineered package, which ensures structural integrity from wind and snow loads and seismic activity.
