Grate Inlet Filters
The ParkUSA “Grate Inlet Filter” is a stormwater Best Management Practice device designed to fit within common basin structures to provide an economical BMP solution. In this way, Stormwater runoff treatment provides protection from pollutants entering an aquifer, public waterways, streams, rivers and lakes. In streets, driveways, and parking lots, vehicles drop hydrocarbons, contained in oil, and metals produced by brake pad wear and tires. These pollutants are the highest in concentrations during the storm’s “first flush” of runoff. As rainwater accumulates on parking pavement, the stormwater will flow to seek to lowest point. These areas are typically the catchment structures like catch basins and curb inlets. These basins lend themselves to an opportunity to pre-filter the stormwater prior to discharging into the storm sewer. In consequence, the grate inlet filter provides the best solution to pre-filtration requirements on these types of events.
